Weeeeee! School! And Perl…

School started again! Yay! And homework! Yay! I’m not bored anymore! W00t! Yeah! Weeeeeeeee! And I’m programming in Perl! Why you ask? Because my friend wanted me to; he had a most excellent idea. It’s called ProgLaTeX, and it calculates LaTeX expressions (\sqrt{16} comes out as 4).

Why?
That's not really the way LaTeX works...
Do you know much about writing parsers,or lexical analyzers.
How would you do something like
\frac{\sqrt{(3+4-1)%2}{\sqrt{\sqrt{2+3/4}}}
or
\sqrt{4} + \sqrt[3]{3/4 + 1.34}
It would have to break it down
into a tree, and then evaluate
everything the right way.

I confess that I don’t know much about parsers. But I *could* just use a lot of find/replace things. Thanks for those examples; now I know how to properly do a cube root :)

Why do you celebrate the fact that you now must do, on average, 150 minutes of work every DAY?!
